Richards, PE, Manager, Capital Projects <br />Prepared by: Harrison Youngblood, PE, Utilities Engineer, Utility Services <br />Subject: Utility Work By Highway Contractor Agreement with FDOT for the Adjustment of Utility <br />Valves for the SR -60 Resurfacing from West of CR -512 to West of 94th Drive —Additional <br />Funds Due <br />Background: <br />On January 31St, 2023 the Board of County Commissioners approved the Utility Work by Highway <br />Contractor Agreement with The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for the adjustment of utility <br />valves during the resurfacing project along SR -60 from County Road (CR) -512 to west of 94th Drive. The <br />project has been awarded and the contractor's utility portion of the bid is higher than the estimated cost <br />for the utility work that was brought before the board in January. <br />Analysis: <br />Indian River County Department of Utility Services (IRCDUS) received the official estimate from the Florida <br />Department of Transportation (FDOT) for a total amount of $9,497.60 for the utility valve adjustments. <br />This cost includes the 2% for Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) and 10% for contingency. <br />Based on the previously paid amount to FDOT in the amount of $3,460.80 the additional funds required to <br />be paid is $6,036.80. <br />Funding: <br />Funds will come from the Utilities/Water Dist/Hydrants and Valves Maintenance account, number <br />47126936-044660.
