UW -94 -09 -DS <br />BACKGROUND <br />On January 2, 1996 the Indian River County Board of County <br />Commissioners approved a contract with Tri -Sure Corporation for <br />the above -referenced project. The awarded contract was in the <br />amount of $838,750.00. (See attached agenda item and minutes) <br />As a result of several necessary changes in the project scope, a <br />change order is required to modify the original contract amount. <br />(See attached change order) <br />ANALYSIS <br />The major required contract modifications and the associated <br />costs are as follows: <br />1) 1,400 linear feet line extension between 84th and 82nd <br />Avenues to complete a proposed master planned water <br />main loop. Cost: $56.522.00. <br />2) Temporary bridge crossing at the Indian River Farms <br />District at 66th to accommodate the box culvert <br />installation at 66th by Public Works. <br />Cost: $24.975.00. <br />3) Various water main stub outs for Public Works Rights - <br />of -Way. Cost:$ 8.400.00. <br />4) Various quantity adjustments during construction. <br />Credit: (-$57.058.00) <br />The revised contract is in the amount of $871.589.00 equating <br />to a contract increase of $32.839.00. All additional work is <br />based on the contract unit prices or negotiated lump sums. The <br />Utilities Department wishes to proceed with the additional work. <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services.recommends that <br />the BCC approve the attached Change Order No. 1 as presented. <br />22 <br />August 6, 1996 <br />
