In Indian fiver County, the effects from Irene appeared to be worse than Floyd because <br />of the amount of power loss. The highest wind recorded for Irene was 60Mph mid the <br />highest wind with Floyd was 70mph. The biggest difference with Irene was the amount <br />of rain. Almost 19 inches of rain fell in Indian Diver County within 24 hours. This <br />created severe flooding and major power outages. The primary reason for power outages <br />in Indian River County was the flooding rain weakened the rout system of marry trees and <br />then the trees collapsed on power lines.
