40 <br />Technical Approach <br />Page 1 <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br />Indian River County Beach Preservation Plan <br />Project Design, Permitting and Engineering <br />Introduction: <br />The implementation of the CountyWide Offshore Sand Search Investigation, Environmental <br />Assessment and Pre -Engineering Design Phase for the County's Beach Restoration <br />Program is of critical concern to the residents of Indian River County. These studies <br />represent the second step in the implementation of the County's Beach Preservation Plan. <br />In order to accomplish this objective, the A"rM Project Team proposes additional technical <br />services to conduct Pre -Application meetings with the FDEP and USACE; to obtain permits <br />for Sectors 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7; refine borrow area characteristics at the North IRC Borrow Site; <br />acquire and analyze native beach sand samples; conduct a wave refraction/diffraction <br />analysis of the South borrow area on the adjacent shoreline; perform magnetometer <br />surveys and legal surreys for the Central and South Borrow Sites; perform Erosion Control <br />Line Surveys in Sectors 1, 2 and 3; prepare easement instruments for the borrow and <br />beach fill areas; prepare contract bid documents and perform construction management <br />services for beach nourishment projects at Beach Sectors 1, 2 and 3; and to conduct <br />Project Management Meetings with County staff, advisory committees and the Board of <br />County Commissioners. <br />
