40 <br />1.42 NOTIFICATION <br />A. Indian River County: The Contractor is required to notify the Indian River <br />County Utilities Department 48 hours prior to initiating; construction <br />(Jeremiah Johnson, (561) 774-5325). The Contractor is required to notify the <br />Indian River County Road and Bridge Department 72 hours prior to <br />blocking any County roads or detouring any traffic (Jim Davis, P.E., (561) <br />567-8000, Extension 245). <br />B. Utility Companies: Contractor shall notify the following known utility <br />companies in the area 48 hours prior to initiating: construction: <br />U.N.C.L.E., 1-800-432-4770 <br />Southern Bell Telephone, (561) 468-5538 <br />TCI Cablevision, (561) 567-3444 <br />C. The Contractor shall give the Engineer not less than seven (7) calendar days <br />notice of the time and place (or places) where he will start the work. <br />D. When the Contractor's excavating operations encounter prehistoric remains <br />or artifacts of historical or archeological significance, the operations shall be <br />temporarily discontinued in that area and the Engineer shall be notified. The <br />Engineer will consult archaeological authorities and determine the <br />disposition of the remains or artifacts. The Contractor agrees that he will <br />make no claim for additional payment or for extension of time because of <br />any delays in or alteration of his procedure due to removal of any such <br />remains or artifacts. <br />PART 2 -PRODUCTS <br />Not applicable <br />9 <br />i .
