The attached map displays the area to benefit from the assessment <br />project. This project is to be paid through the assessment -of <br />property owners along the proposed water line route. In the <br />interim, financing will be through the use of impact fee funds. <br />Design services have been completed by the Department of Utility <br />Services. <br />Attached are Resolutions I and II for the assessment project. The <br />total estimated cost to be assessed is $38,709.00. The estimated <br />cost per square foot is $0.1344221. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends that the <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolutions 96-98 and 96-99, approving preliminary <br />assessment roll and establishing the public hearing <br />date. <br />Providing (First Reso.) 8/7/96(reso/hickory)Vk/DC <br />RESOLUTION NO. 96 -au__ <br />A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, PROVIDING <br />FOR WATER SERVICE TO HICKORY SANDS (5TH PLACE WEST OF OLD <br />DIXIE HIGHWAY); PROVIDING THE TOTAL ESTIMATED COST, <br />METHOD OF PAYMENT OF ASSESSMENTS, NUMBER OF ANNUAL <br />INSTALLMENTS, AND LEGAL DESCRIPTION OF THE AREA <br />SPECIFICALLY SERVED. <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County has <br />determined that the improvements herein described are necessary to promote <br />the public welfare of the county and has determined to defray the cost <br />thereof by special assessments against certain properties to be serviced by a <br />water main extension to Hickory Sands (5th Place west of Old Dixie Highway), <br />hereinafter referred to as Project No. UW -96 -09 -DS; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows: <br />1. The County does hereby determine that a water line shall be installed to <br />benefit 17 properties in Hickory Sands (5th Place west of Old Dixie <br />Highway), and that the cost thereof shall be specially assessed in <br />accordance with the provisions of Sections 206.01 through 206.09 of the <br />Code of Indian River County. <br />2. The total estimated project assessment cost of the above-described <br />Improvements is shown to be $38,709 or $0.1344221 per square foot to be <br />paid by the property specially benefited as shown on the assessment plat <br />on file with the Department of Utility Services.
