Tuesday, August 20, 1996 <br />The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, <br />Florida, met in Regular Session at the County Commission Chambers, <br />1840 25th Street, Vero Beach, Florida, on Tuesday, August 20, 1996, <br />at 9:00 a.m. Present were Fran B. Adams, Chairman; Carolyn K. <br />Eggert, Vice Chairman; Richard N. Bird; Kenneth R. Macht; and John <br />W. Tippin. Also present were James E. Chandler, County <br />Administrator; Charles P. Vitunac, County Attorney; and Barbara <br />Bonnah, Deputy Clerk. <br />The Chairman called the meeting to order, and Attorney Vitunac <br />led the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. <br />ADDITION TO THE AGENDA/EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Chairman Adams requested the following additions: <br />7-H Insertion into backup material of revised Budget <br />Amendment #026. <br />8-A Sheriff Wheeler's request to use $45 daily fees for <br />housing Broward County prisoners to supplement his <br />1996-97 budget. <br />9-B Public Discussion - Status of PEP Reef. <br />11-C Approval of Contract for Bid #6059 - Demolition of two <br />Sebastian wastewater treatment plants. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />the above additions to today's Agenda. <br />PROCLAMATION AND PRESENTATIONS <br />Buddy Akers, president of the Fellsmere Volunteer Ambulance <br />Service, presented the Board with a check for $60,665.36 for the <br />purchase of a new ambulance for the Fellsmere station. They feel <br />this is a good gesture to give back to the County the money they <br />had after they dissolved since the County had given them operating <br />money to start their service. <br />1 <br />AUGUST 20, 1996 <br />NA SIB <br />
