DeBraal, County Attorney <br />DATE: May 9, 2024 <br />ATTORNEY <br />SUBJECT: Appointments to the Economic Opportunities Council of Indian River County, <br />Inc. <br />The Economic Opportunities Council of Indian River County, Inc. ("EOC") is a non-profit <br />corporation in Indian River County. Since the EOC receives Community Services Block <br />Grant funds, pursuant to 42 USC §9910, the EOC must have 1/3 of the members of its board <br />who are elected officials or their representatives. The Board of County Commissioners <br />satisfies the statutory requirement by appointing representatives to serve on the EOC board. <br />On April 4, 2024, the Board received a letter from EOC requesting the reappointment of <br />Teddy Floyd, Jeanette Anderson and Leonard Frankel to the EOC. The EOC has also <br />requested the appointment of Valia Rich. Please be advised that all of the appointments will <br />renew annually at the same time. <br />RECOMMENDATION. <br />The County Attorney recommends that the Board reappoint Teddy Floyd, Jeanette <br />Anderson, Leonard Frankel and appoint Valia Rich to the Economic Opportunities Council <br />of Indian River County, Inc. <br />ATTACHMENT. <br />Letter from Angela Davis -Green to Board of County Commissioners, dated April 4, 2024 <br />55 <br />
