ProcCamattm <br />Marie Louise Ambrose Centennial Recognition <br />Whereas, Marie Louise Doumar Ambrose was born May 27, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York and <br />lived in both the Brooklyn Heights and Bay Ridge sections of Brooklyn; and <br />Whereas, Louise decided to attend high school in Manhattan and upon graduation finished her <br />education at Butler Business School. After graduation, Louise obtained a position in the payroll <br />department of the General Electric Company and within a few years was promoted to a supervisory <br />position; and <br />Whereas, Louise married Stephen Ambrose, a musician travelling across the country playing <br />saxophone and clarinet with the Big Bands in 1950. Shortly after, Louise and Steve settled down in <br />Connecticut and spent 69 happy years together until Steve's passing a few years ago; and <br />Whereas, Louise and Steve lived in Trumball, Connecticut and Venice, Florida. Louise was a <br />stay-at-home Mom while their sons were young and had a successful second career in the accounting <br />group at Fairfield University; and <br />Whereas, When Steve passed away Louise moved to Vero Beach to be near her son Stephen <br />and his wife Victoria. Louise feels blessed that this has allowed her to participate in family events with <br />her five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and <br />Whereas, Louise resides at Renaissance Senior Living in Vero Beach where she remains <br />active in the arts, enjoys jewelry -making, painting, and participating in religious services held in the <br />chapel. Louise also enjoys the numerous music concerts available to Renaissance residents, <br />especially when they include some of the Big Band tunes Steve used to play. <br />Now, IFierefore, be it Proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indian River County, FCorufa, that Mary Louise Ambrose is congratulated on reaching her <br />100th birthday, and the Board extends its sincere best wishes for many more happy years. <br />Adopted this 21 st day of May 2024.
