E. Value Adjustment Board - Special Master <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 9/4/96: <br />TO: The Board of County Commissioners <br />FROM: VC- William G..Gollins II - Deputy County Attorney <br />DATE: September 4, 1996 <br />SUBJECT: Value Adjustment Board - Special Master <br />Property Appraiser David Nolte has advised the Value Adjustment Board at its <br />organizational meeting that there may be some complex commercial valuation <br />cases involving corporate -owned mobile home parks, communications companies, <br />etc. While it will not be known until the Value Adjustment Board filing <br />deadline of September 10, 1996 whether a special master is needed, the <br />members of the Value Adjustment Board wish to confer with their respective <br />bodies and obtain consent to the expenditure. The expense of hearings before <br />a special master and any compensation of special masters shall be borne <br />three-fifths by the Board of County Commissioners and two-fifths by the <br />School Board under state law. <br />Special master expenses have been estimated at -about $400.00 per day, thus <br />total expenses could run around $1,000.00 if an anticipated 2% days of <br />hearing were necessary. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Concur in the Property Appraisers recommendation to appoint a special master <br />for complex cases with costs apportioned three-fifths to the County <br />Commission and two-fifths to.the School Board pursuant to F.S. 195.035(1). <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously concurred <br />in the Property Appraiser's recommendation to <br />appoint a special master for complex cases with <br />costs apportioned three-fifths to the County <br />Commission and two-fifths to the School Board <br />pursuant to F.S. 195.035(1). <br />SHERIFF'S REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF COPS GRANT <br />APPLICATION - UNIVERSAL HIRING PROGRAM <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 9/4/96: <br />17 oul 1,37 <br />September 10, 1996 <br />
