40 <br />4M <br />�= OWNER and CONTRACTOR in accordance with paragraph 14.13 that the Work is acceptable <br />�''� (except as otherwise expressly provided in connection with Substantial Completion). <br />626 CONTRACTOR shall designate a responsible representative at the site whose duty shall be the <br />prevention of accidents. This person shall be CONTRACTOR's superintendent unless otherwise <br />designated in writing by CONTRACTOR to OWNER. <br />Emergencies: <br />6.27 In emergencies affecting the safety or protection of persons or the Work or property at the site or <br />adjacent thereto, CONTRACTOR, without special instruction or authorization from ENGINEER or <br />OWNER, is obligated to act to prevent threatened damage, injury or loss CONTRACTOR shall give <br />ENGINEER prompt written notice that any significant changes in the Work or variations from the <br />Contract Documents have been caused thereby. if ENGINEER determines that a change in the <br />Contract Documents is required because of the action taken in response to an emergency, a Work <br />Directive Change or Change Order will be issued to document the consequences of the changes or <br />aj variations. <br />Shop Drawings and Samples: <br />6.28 After checking and verifying all field measurements and alter complying with applicable procedures <br />specified in the General Requirements, CONTRACTOR shall submit to ENGINEER for review in <br />accordance with the accepted schedule of Shop Drawing submissions (see paragraph 2.9), or for <br />other appropriate action if so indicated in the Supplementary Conditions, rive (5) copies (unless <br />otherwise specified in the General Requirements) of all Shop Drawings, which will bear a stamp or <br />specific written indication that CONTRACTOR has satisfied CONTRACTOR's responsibilities <br />under the Contract Documents with respect to the review of the submission. All submissions will <br />be identified as ENGINEER may require. The data shown on the Shop Drawings will be complete <br />with respect to quantities, dimensions, specified performance and design criteria, materials and <br />similar data to enable ENGINEER to review the information as required. <br />6.29 CONTRACTOR shall also submit to ENGINEER for review with such promptness as to cause no <br />delay in Work, all samples required by the Contract Documents. All samples will have been <br />checked by and accompanied by a specific written indication that CONTRACTOR has satisfied <br />CONTRACTOR's responsibilities under the Contract Documents with respect to the review of the <br />submission and will be idcritificd clearly as to material, Supplier, pertinent data such as catalog <br />numbers and the use for which intended. <br />6.34 Before submission of each Shap Drawing or sample CONTRACTOR shall have determine(,] and <br />verified all quantities, dimensions, specified performance criteria, installation requirements, <br />materials, catalog numbers and similar data with respect thereto and reviewed or coordinated each <br />Shop Drawing or sample with other Shop Drawings and samples and with the requirements of the <br />Work and the Contract Documents. <br />6.31 At the time of each submission, CONTRACTOR shall give ENGINEER specific written notice: of <br />each variation that the Shop Drawings or samples may have from the requirements of the Contract <br />Documents, and in addition, shall cause a specific notation to be made on each Shop Drawing <br />submitted to ENGINEER for review of each such variation. <br />6.32 ENGINEER will review with reasonable promptness Shop drawings and samples, but ENGINEER's <br />review will be only for conformance with the design concept of the Traject and for compliance with <br />the information given in the Contract Documents and shall not extend to means, methods, <br />techniques, sequences or procedures of construction (except where a specific means, methods, <br />technique, sequence or procedure of construction is indicated in or required by the Contract <br />Documents) or to safety precautions or programs incident thereto.
