�_ 7 <br />E-1 <br />4D <br />Background <br />Ti <br />he Blue Goose Midden was first discovered by Hale Smith in the <br />1940s, In what began as an archaeological monitoring project at <br />the Bermuda Club property, directly south of the Seasons Tract, <br />portions of the Blue Goose Midden were investigated. Current <br />known boundaries for the Blue Goose Midden include both sides of <br />Jun Pe Trail from State fro d <br />g a <br />510 In the Seasons Tract south <br />Into the Sea Oaks tract, <br />Between April and July 2000, <br />Environmental Services Inc., <br />(ESI) conducted a dig on the <br />proposed Seasons residential <br />Digging, screening, and recording at the site. <br />2 <br />Blue Goose Midden Site <br />tract, A report on their findings <br />was submitted to Indian River <br />County and the Florida State <br />Historic Preservation Officer. <br />Excavations focused on two Intact <br />shell concentrations.
