of <br />• <br />40 <br />11.0 PERFORMANCE BOND <br />IIA i The successful bidder shall, at no charge to the County furnish a performance bond in the <br />amount of thirty percent (3011/4) of the annual service agreement amount. and approved by the <br />Risk Manager of Indian [Liver County. Said performance bond shall be maintained valid for one <br />hundred and twenty (120) days past the expiration date of the contract entered into with the <br />successful bidder. The bond is security for the faithful performance of the contract and the <br />cleanup of the work site on completion of the contract. <br />12.0 QUALIFICATIONS OF BIDDERS <br />12.1 Bids will be considered only from firms that have been engaged in providing Vegetation <br />and Food Waste Processing and Recycling Service similar to the services specified herein and <br />who are presently engaged in providing these services. Bidders will be required to demonstrate <br />proof of experience in the management and administration of an organization of the magnitude <br />required for the performance of this contract, <br />12.2 Indian River County reserves the right, before recommending any award. to inspect the <br />facilities and organization or to take any other action necessary to determine ability to perform in <br />accordance with the contract documents, including the financial ability, organizational ability„ <br />experience, record and equipment. <br />12.3 Indian River County will determine whether the evidence of ability to perform is <br />satisfactory and will make awards only when such evidence is deemed satisfactory, and reserves <br />the right to reject bids where evidence submitted, on investigation and evaluation, is determined <br />by the County to indicate inability ofthe bidder to perform. <br />13.0 PRL - BID CONFERENCE <br />13.1 A recommended pre-bid conference will be held at the Indian River County Landfill, <br />1325 74"' Avenue SW, Vero Beach, Florida at 9,00 A. I. vn .tune 21. 2000, The <br />purpose of this conference is to allow the County the opportunity to provide clarification <br />and respond to questions from potential bidders relative to any facet of this Invitation to <br />Bid, Bidders will also be allowed to inspect the landfill site and the material <br />characteristics exiting and being received. <br />13.2 To provide the County sufficient time to adequately prepare responses to vendor inquiries <br />at the pre-bid conference, it is desirable that all questions be submitted in writing directly to <br />Indian River County, Solid Waste Disposal 'District, Manager, 1325 74" Avenue SW, Vero <br />Beach FL 32968 no later than JUne19. 2000. Responses to all questions will be provided to each <br />participant and discussed at the pre-bid conference. <br />13.3 Glue to the importance of the bidders having a clear understanding of the <br />specifications/scope of work and requirements for this solicitation, attendance at this <br />conference is strongly encouraged to all vendors submitting a proposal. <br />12 <br />
