(UGC00 I 00.FMT):aa <br />SECTION 00100 <br />INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS <br />(Based Upon EJCDC No. 1910-12, 1983 Ed.) <br />I . DEFINED TERMS <br />Tcnns used in these Instruc tions to Bidders which arc defined in the Standard General <br />Conditions of the Construction Contract (No. I 9 I 0-8, 1983 ed.) have the meanings <br />assigned to them in the General Conditi ons. The tem1 "Bidder" means one who submit s a <br />bid directly to Owner, as distinct from a sub-bidder, who submits a bid to a Bidder. The <br />tenn "Successful Bidder" means the lowest, qualified, responsible and responsive Bidder <br />to whom Owner (on the basis of Owne r's evaluation as hereinafter provided) makes an <br />award. The tenn "Bidding Documents" inc ludes the Advertisement or Invitation to Bid, <br />Instructions to Bidders, The Bid Forin, and the proposed Contract Documents (including <br />all Addenda issued prior to receipt of Bids). <br />2. COPIES OF BIDDING DOCUMENTS <br />2.1 Complete sets of the Bidding Documents in the number and for the deposit <br />sum, if any, stated in the Advertisement or Invitation to Bid may be <br />2.2 <br />2.3 <br />obtained from Engineer. <br />Complete sets of Bidding Documents must be used in preparing Bids; <br />neither Owner nor Engineer assumes any responsibility for errors or <br />misinterpretations resulting from the use of incomple te sets of Bidding <br />Documents. <br />Owner and Engineer, in making copies of Bidding Documents available <br />on the above tenns, do so only for the purpose of obtaining Bids on the <br />work and do not confer a license or grant for any other use of the Bidding <br />Documents. <br />3. QUALIFICATIONS OF BIDDERS <br />To demonstrate qualifications to perfonn th e work, eac-11 Bidder must be prepared to <br />submit, within five days of Owner's request, written evidence, such as financial data, <br />previous experience, present commitments, and other such data as may be necessary to <br />prove to the sati sfaction of th e Owner that the Bidder is qua Ii fled by experience to do the <br />work and is prepared to complete th e work within the stated time period. <br />00100-1
