By the reasonable and fair estimated cost ofsuch emitted work as determined <br />1 by the Engineer and approved by the Owner. <br />16. RRATOR ATION AND CI PANT IPS The Contractor shall protect all private and public <br />t property Bore damage as a= oil ofwork under the Contract. All damage as a result ofwork <br />under this Contract shall be restored to the original or better condition as approved by the <br />Engineer, at no additional cost to the Owner. The Contractor shall provide all safety <br />' precautions necessary to prevent damage and/or injury to any person or property. Public <br />health and safety consideration will exceed all others. <br />The Contractor will keep the site(s) orderly during construction and will leave the site(s) <br />clean prior to final acceptance, all in a manner as approved by the Engineer. <br />17. WORK BY OT14FRSCounty crows and/or other Contractors may be working on the <br />project site(s) simultaneously within any work area. The Contractor shall cooperate and <br />coordinate his work with all others. <br />The Contractor shall coordinate his work such that there will be the least amount of <br />interference and/or interruption of utilities, systems, i.e., facilities. <br />18, INSPECTION AND ACCEPTANCE OF THE WORK The Engineer or his representative <br />will visit the site from time to time to observe the progress and quality of the work. The <br />Engineerhas the authority to disapprove or reject work which is defective. Such work shall <br />be removed and replaced or repaired in a manner satisfactory to the Engineer. Until <br />defective work is satisfactorily corrected, the Engineer will assign a value of the work and <br />retain that from any payments that may be due the Contractor. <br />The Engineer shall make all inspections and tests as required to determine the acceptability <br />of the work. The Contractor shall provide all samples and facilities and work necessary for <br />the testings and inspection. <br />Upon notification by the Contractor, the Engineer will perform final tests and inspections. <br />Should this reveal defective work those defects must be immediately corrected, after which <br />additional tests and inspection shall be conducted by the Engineer to determine acceptability <br />of the work. Upon acceptance of corrected defective work, this shall constitute final <br />acceptance of the work. <br />19. GUARANTFF In addition, warranties ofinerchantability, and fitness ofpurpese guaranteed <br />by the Uniform Commercial Code and made a pan hereof, all work or materials famished <br />by the Contractor under this Contract shall be guaranteed by him against mechanical and <br />_ physical defects, breakage, and other damages and failure, under normal operation, for a <br />period ofone(1) year from the date of final acceptance. All work mmaterials founder, be <br />defective from routine, normal operation within the specified guarantee period shall be <br />replaced by the Contractor at his expense. The period ofguarantec ofeach such replacement <br />shall be one year from and after the date of installation thereof. <br />GC -8 <br />6 <br />
