In lieu of the Bonds, the Contractor may famish an alternative form of security in the form <br />ofcash, money order, certified check, cashiers check, irrevocable letter oferedit or a security <br />y as listed in Part 11 of F.S. Chapter 625. Any such alternative form of security shall be for the <br />i same purpose, and be for the same amount and subject to the same conditions as those <br />applicable to the bond otherwise required. The determination of the value of an alternative <br />form of security shall be made by the owner. <br />Such Bonds shall continue in effect for one (1) year after completion and acceptance of the <br />work. <br />r •.11 1 a KOM <br />A. If, in the opinion of the Owner, the Contractor shall be improperly performing said <br />work, or shall neglect or refuse to remove and/or re -build such work as shall have <br />been rejected by the Engineer as being defective or unsuitable, or if at any time the <br />Owner shall be of the opinion that the said work is being unnecessarily delayed and <br />will not be finished within the prescribed time, they shall notify the Contractor in <br />writing, and if the Contractor shall not within ten (10) calendar days thereafter, take <br />such measures as will, in the judgement of the Owner, insets, satisfactory per- <br />formance, construction, end completion of the work, the Owner may notify the <br />Contractor to discontinue all work under this Contract. The Contractor shall <br />immediately respect said notice and stop said work and cease to have any rights in <br />the possession of the ground and shall forfeit his Contract. The Owner may <br />thereupon advertise and let a contract for the uncompleted work in the same manner <br />as was followed in the letting of this Contract and charge the cost thereof to the <br />original Contractor upon his Contract; any excess of cost arising therefrom over and <br />above the original Contract price shall be charged against the original Contractor and <br />his surety or sureties who shall be liable therefore. <br />B. If the Contractor shall assign this Contract or any money seeming thereon or <br />approval thereon, or abandon the work or is adjudged a bankrupt, or if he makes a <br />general assignment for the benefit of his creditors, or if a trustee or receiver is <br />appointed for the contractor or for any ofhis property, or ifhe shall refuse or neglect <br />to comply with the instructions ofthe Owner or Engineer relative thereto, or shall in <br />any manner fail to comply with the Specifications and stipulations herein contained, <br />The Owner shall have the right to annul and cancel this Contract and proceed to <br />advertise and m.let a contract for the unfinished work, and such annulment shall not <br />entitle the Contractor to any claim for damages on account thereof, nor shall it affect <br />the right of the Owner to recover damages on account ofsuch failure. <br />24. PROTPCTrON OF PI MMC: <br />A. The Contractor shay eruct and maintain barricades and sufficient safeguards wound <br />all excavation, embankments or abstractions; he shall place sufficient amber lights <br />L at or now the work, keep the same burning from sunset to sunrise,. employ watchmen <br />and strictly obey all laws and ordinances controlling or limiting those engaged on <br />similar work. All maintenance of traffic work shall comply with Section 102 and <br />GC -10 <br />L <br />
