C-1 <br />40 <br />C-1 <br />0g0V <br />FINAL REPORT <br />SHELTER EVALUATIONS for THE STATE OF FLORIDA <br />11D No - 204 <br />Survey Date: December 3, 1999 <br />Facility Name: Glendale Elementary School (Classrooms) <br />Address: 4940 81h Street, Vero Beach, Florida, 32960 <br />Coordinates: <br />Latitude: N27039'06" <br />Longitude: W80°26'13" <br />Discussions: <br />Glendale Elementary School is located on 8th Street S.W. approximately 2.5 miles west of U.S. 1. Under <br />the direction of Indian River Department of Emergency Management, tine classroom areas were evaluated <br />as a possible hurricane evacuation shelter. <br />Flood and Hazmat Considerations: <br />A site plan showing existing elevations was not available but the campus is located in a Zone X area <br />according to Flood Insurance hate Map, panel 165 of 169, Map No.12061CO165 E, with an effective date <br />of May 4, 1989. Evidence of flooding or parading was not apparent. <br />The HES building is within the Vulnerability Zone of two Section 302 facilities but there's a low release <br />potential in a hurricane event. Information was provided by local emergency management that the <br />chemicals ammonia, chlorine, hydroflouric acid and sulfuric acid were present in these facilities. <br />The campus is not located within a ten mile Emergency Planning Zone of a nuclear facility <br />
