Pelican Island Elementary School (2 classroom buildings) <br />Address: 1355 Schumann Drive, Sebastian, Florida, 32958 <br />Coordinates: <br />Lafintdce: N2714546" <br />Longitude: W 80°27'50" <br />Discussion: <br />Pelican island Elementary School is located on Schumann Drive in Sebstian approximately .25 miles west <br />of U.S.I . Under the direction of Indian 'Diver Department of Emergency Management, 2 classroom <br />buildings were evaluated as possible hurricane evacuation shelters. <br />Flood and Hazmat Considerations: <br />A site plan showing existing elevations was not available but the campus is located in a Zone W area <br />according to Flood Insurance Rate Map, panel 87 of 169, Map No.12061CO087 E, with an effective date <br />of May 4, 1999. Evidence of flooding or ponding was not apparent. <br />The HES building is within the Vulnerability Zone of two Section 302 facilities that have a low release <br />potential in a hurricane event. Information was provided by local emetgency management that the chemical <br />chlorine was present in these facilities. <br />The munpus is not located within a ten mile Emergency Planning Zone of a nuclear facility <br />
