c� <br />BOOK 99 PAGE <br />APPLICATION <br />• Chapter 304 - Wheelchair Transport Services. <br />• Submitted April 25, 1996 - Class "E" Certificate of Public <br />Convenience & Necessity. <br />• $100.00 fee. <br />• Investigation by EMS Director. <br />• Public Hearing within 60 days*. <br />INVESTIGATION <br />• Each municipality, hospital, EMS provider, nursing home, <br />and health care facility was corresponded with (42): <br />• An informational meeting was held on August 6, 1996. <br />• Able vehicles were inspected (3). <br />• Public need was considered. <br />• Not under contract with CTC - Council on Aging. <br />• Applicant stressed objective was to provide service to <br />private pay clients until contract with CTC could be <br />finalized. <br />• Before ordinance was approved in September, 1995, <br />applicant was providing wheelchair transport services in <br />county. <br />FINDING <br />• Concerns were stated from some facilities regarding <br />problems in: <br />— Scheduling in advance. <br />— After hours/weekend trips. <br />— Desire for other providers to choose from. <br />ALTERNATIVES <br />• ALTERNATIVE #1: Deny the issuance of a Class "E" <br />Certificate. <br />• ALTERNATIVE #2: Approve the issuance of a Class "E" <br />Certificate. <br />• ALTERNATIVE #3: Approve the issuance of a Class "E" <br />Certificate, limited to private pay clients. <br />31 <br />Se tember 24, 1996 <br />
