40 <br />40 <br />s <br />ARTICLE 21 <br />WORKING OUT OF CLASSIFICATION <br />21.01 An employee required to work temporarily at a higher rank shall receive <br />a 10% increase above the employee's current hourly base salary for the <br />period of time the employee worked out of classification. To qualify for <br />temporary relief pay, the employee must work in a higher classification <br />for a minimum of three hours. Only those qualified employees who have <br />completed their probationary period will be utilized while filling a vacancy <br />in a higher classification. The County, at its discretion, may work <br />qualified employees out of classification after they have completed six <br />months of their probationary period. Such temporary promotions are not <br />considered mandatory. Refusal to work out of classification will not be <br />held against the employee (but the employee must state reasons to the <br />FMS Chiefs except for the purposes of promotion. <br />
