Specifically, the health department is requesting funds from the county for disease prevention and control (including <br />public health preparedness), and environmental health services. County revenue is being used for essential public health services. <br />The major focus of our agency is to improve the health of our community. This past year, we have made strides in our partnerships <br />for community health improvement and the establishment of our Wabasso satellite site. As we indicated on last years application, we <br />have now added an Environmental Specialist at our Wabasso site and a Health Educator is starting on April 1, 2024. We have <br />requested a 4% increase that will help support our health education initiatives in Wabasso.
