The County shall continue to inspect for the bio-hazardous waste from the <br />solid waste that enters the landfill. <br />Policy 3.6: All future expansion of the landfill and the SWDD facilities shall be consistent with the adopted solid waste <br />level of service standards. <br />Policy 3.7: The County shall maintain its charge mechanism for the collection and management of special wastes such <br />as C&D debris, bio-hazardous waste, and other wastes needing special collection, handling, and disposal. <br />Objective 4: By 2020, tThe County will continue to strive to have increased the portion of solid waste recycled to 30% of <br />its waste stream. <br />Policy 4.2: By 2022, the SWDD shall re-evaluate establishing a mandatory solid waste collection system that serves <br />properties within the County’s Urban Service Area. Upon the establishment of mandatory door-to-door garbage <br />collection, the SWDD shall evaluate the need for and the level of service required from the customer convenience centers. <br />[POLICY ACHIEVED] <br />Policy 4.5: The SWDD, through radio and newspaper advertisements, informational brochures, the County’s website <br />and other (similar) media, or through special events, shall provide general public education on the importance and benefit <br />of the recycling program. <br />Policy 4.6: By 2020, tThe SWDD shall continue to evaluate the feasibility of the maximum recovery of recyclables from <br />the County garbage stream and their conversion to useful products. <br />Policy 4.7: By 2020, tThe SWDD shall evaluate the feasibility of transferring the County’s solid waste to another regional <br />facility for disposal of solid waste. <br />PAGE 50
