During this exercise, 21 <br />stickers were placed throughout the county. <br />◊ 15 stickers in the NE quadrant of the County <br />◊ 6 stickers in the SE quadrant of the County <br />On the Thought Wall, five comments related to stormwater in some capacity. These comments included: <br />◊ “Need better drainage” <br />◊ “Prevent flooding” <br />◊ “Low impact development for stormwater control” <br />◊ “Stormwater management” <br />◊ “Open stormwater facilities to the public” <br />DIA Highlights <br />◊ The Stormwater Data Inventory & Analysis identifies existing stormwater plans, as well as that the County has <br />initiated development of a Stormwater Master Plan as of 2024. <br />◊ The DIA provides an overview of agencies having stormwater jurisdiction within the County. <br />◊ The volume of stormwater runoff is variable and responsive to the intensity and duration of a storm. <br />◊ Stormwater management facilities must be designed to protect and enhance groundwater recharge, especially in <br />those areas demonstrated to have significant recharge potential. <br />◊ Tetra Tech began developing the Indian River County Lagoon Management Plan in October 2023. <br />Recommended Changes <br />Goal: Indian River County shall provide and maintain a system which reduces the risk of property damage and <br />inconvenience from long term flooding, promotes stormwater recharge of the shallow aquifer, reduces stormwater <br />PAGE 57
