Collaboration with our arts
organizations and promoting them/their events are two of our main focuses. We worked closely with: a) the Gifford
Cultural Center and Historical Museum implementing a state grant the Cultural Council received for $493,000, b) the
Vero Beach Art Club promoting'the annual Under the Oaks Art Show, c) the Sebastian Riverfront Fine Art and Music
Festival, d) The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center bringing their performances to our county, and the e) Vero
Beach Film Festival, providing promotional sponsorship. The IRC Chamber's latest report (2020) indicates arts and
cultural opportunities are a huge factor in attracting tourism. Research indicates an art or cultural event influenced the
choice of destination for travels in more than 35million surveyed and is the 4th largest driver of decisions when planning
a trip. The Cultural Council's programs are directly aimed at supporting tourism and include digital and video marketing,
print publications, broadcast marketing, website promotion, Cultural Concierge Service, and information distribution at
our main office, at local festivals and events as well as in four (4) WELCOME TO FLORIDA VISITOR CENTERS.
We continue to increase social media outreach with an electronic copy of our ever -popular Cultural Arts Guide which is
available in hardcopy as well. The electronic copy is accessible through our website (cultural-council.org and is
available to be shared with potential visitors from all areas of the globe.
In 2024 we created a 9 minute video utilizing original footage of the 2024 Under the Oaks Fine Arts Show together with
video clips from collaborating partner arts organizations. We are using this video to create shorter video ad clips to
promote cultural tourism in IRC. Sample video clips are included in the accompanying powerpoint presentation. It is our
intention to create additional original video footage of Sebastian Riverfront Fine Arts and Music Festival and Jake
Owens live local performances to render additional video tourism ads.
The state grant we have received for the development of the architectural plans for the Gifford Cultural Center and
Historical Museum is the first step in creating what will become an additional major tourist attraction in our county.
Finally, we have partnered with the Indian River County Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America to raise
funds to build a World War II monument on Memorial Island. fundraising has reached far and wide, producing
nationwide contributions. These many contributors are future tourists who will undoubtedly visit IRC and the memorial
they helped build. Groundbreaking took place March 23rd and construction will start soon. Plans to create military -
oriented travel tours of the island and other nearby sites will add to IRC tourism.
TDC funds have been instrumental in our programs.
summary MVPUI L
Amount requested from Indian River County for 2024/2025: $70,000.00
Total Proposed Program budget for 2024/2025: $221,000.00
Percent of total Program budget: 31.67%
Current Funding (2023/2024) $65,000.00
Dollar increase / (decrease) in request: $5,000.00
Percent increase / decrease in request: 7.69%
EXHIBIT A i
