Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final September 10, 2024 <br />electric power cable, thereby optimizing construction costs. <br />After analyzing quotes for constructing an electric cable using open trench <br />installation, IRCDUS decided to switch to a directional drilling method due to <br />cost savings and fewer environmental impacts. Masteller & Moler (M&M) <br />prepared Amendment No. 2 to Work Order No. 5 for the re -design, which cost <br />$10,400. IRCDUS requested a finn quote from Paragon for the directional <br />drilling method, which came to $425,378.38. With a 20% contingency reserve to <br />cover unforeseen construction costs, the total proposed budget came to <br />$520,854.38. <br />No further discussion was had. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Earman, seconded by Commissioner <br />Loar, to approve staffs recommendation. The motion carried by the following <br />vote: <br />Aye: 5 - Chairman Adams, Vice Chairman Flescher, Commissioner Earman, <br />Commissioner Moss, and Commissioner Loar <br />13. Every member progresses from second <br />Vice President to first Vice President, then to President. The newly elected <br />second Vice President did not get reelected, leaving an open spot. Chairman <br />Adams expressed interest in running for this position, but noted that it would <br />require the support of the Board. <br />The Board was in support of Chairman Adams running for the Second Vice <br />President position with the Florida Association of Counties <br />The Chairman called for a recess at 12:13 am and receonvened at 12:20 am. <br />B.
