Chairman Adams inquired about the $833.77 total, and <br />Administrator Chandler explained that $833.77 was the negotiated <br />amount. The original proposal was $1,572.50. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Bird, the Board unanimously approved <br />additional engineering services from Edlund and <br />Dritenbas in the amount of $833.77, as set out in <br />staff's recommendation. <br />IRC FAIRGROUNDS - VERO BEACH POW WOW <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 10/7/96: <br />TO: James E. Chandler, <br />County Administrator <br />FROM: James W. Davis, P.E. <br />Public Works Director <br />SUBJECT: Request to Use Indian River County Fairgrounds for Vero Beach Pow Wow <br />DATE: October 7, 1996 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The Treasure Coast Indian Association and Indian River County/Vero Beach <br />Recreation Department are requesting use of the Fairgrounds for a three day Pow <br />Wow to be conducted Feb. 28 - March 2, 1997. The purpose of the festival is to <br />share the Native American culture with the people of the Treasure Coast. A <br />minimal gate fee will be charged, however, a School Day will be conducted on <br />Friday, the 28th. It is anticipated that this will be an annual event. The <br />Recreation Department is co -sponsoring the event and the Fairgrounds user fee <br />of $100 per day will be waived. Insurance will be provided. The Parks and <br />Recreation Committee has approved the request. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />It is recommended that the request be approved.
