E. <br />'TS ENGINEER <br />UTILITY SERVICES <br />NORTH COUNTY WELLFIELD PROJECT FINALIZATION <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT NO. UW -94 -12 -DS <br />In January 1995, the Indian River County Commission approved a <br />contract with Missimer International for hydrogeologic services <br />associated with the above -referenced project. In July 1995, the <br />Board also approved a contract with American' Drilling for <br />construction of the wells associated with this project. We are now <br />prepared to make final contract adjustments, allowing final payment <br />to be made, as well as allowing application to St. Johns River <br />Water Management District for our available grant monies. <br />ANALYSIS <br />The original contract amount with Missimer International was in the <br />amount of. $122,496.00. As a result of additional permitting <br />responses to St. Johns and an additional required contract <br />inspection, they are requesting an additional $9,780.00 in fees. <br />(See attached letter of explanation and proposed Work Authorization <br />No. 2 from Missimer.) The Utilities Department staff concur with <br />Missimer's request and are recommending approval. If approved, <br />this would raise their fees to $132,276.00. <br />The original contract amount with American Drilling was <br />$249,050.00. Change Order No. 1 reduced the contract amount to <br />$241,085.00, and the proposed final change order will reduce the <br />contract by -an additional amount of $9,992.00. (See the attached <br />final change order for details.) Approval of this change order <br />will equate to a final contract cost of $231,093.00 with American <br />Drilling. <br />The final cost breakdown for this project is as follows: <br />Original Final <br />Missimer International $122,496.00 $132,276.00 <br />American Drilling 249.050.00 231.093.00 <br />Total $371,546.00 $363,369.00 <br />As a result of all final changes, the total project cost.has been <br />reduced by $8,177.00, or a 2.2%± decrease in project costs. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />The staff of the Department of Utility Services recommends approval <br />of the following as presented: <br />1. Work Authorization No. 2 <br />amount of $9,780.00. <br />2. Final change order with <br />decrease of $9,992.00. <br />with Missimer International in the <br />American Drilling for a contract <br />3.
