Small Businesses, Minority Business Enterprises and Women's Business Enterprises <br />In accordance with 2 C.F.R. § 200.321 (Contracting with small and minority businesses, <br />women's business enterprises, and labor surplus area firms), the recipient must take all <br />necessary affirmative steps to assure that minority businesses, women's business enterprises, <br />and labor surplus area firms are used when possible. DOC encourages non -Federal entities to <br />use small businesses, minority business enterprises and women's business enterprises in <br />contracts under financial assistance awards. The Minority Business Development Agency <br />within the DOC will assist non -Federal entities in matching qualified minority business <br />enterprises with contract opportunities. United States Laws and Regulations <br />This award is subject to the laws and regulations of the United States. The recipient must <br />comply with all applicable requirements of all other Federal laws, executive orders, <br />regulations and policies governing this program. <br />2. Non -Discrimination Requirements <br />No person in the United States may, on the ground of race, color, national origin, handicap, <br />age, religion, or sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject <br />to discrimination under, any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. The <br />recipient agrees to comply with the non-discrimination requirements below: <br />a. Statutory Provisions <br />1. Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (42 U.S.C. §§ 2000d et seq.) and DOC <br />implementing regulations published at 15 C.F.R. Part 8 prohibiting discrimination on <br />the grounds of race, color, or national origin under programs or activities receiving <br />Federal financial assistance; <br />2.
