600K 99 PAuE 613 <br />ALTERNATIVES AND ANALYSIS <br />The County Traffic Engineering Division has drafted an RFP <br />(attached), which describes the traffic signal timing services <br />needed. <br />RECOIi@MMATIONS & FUNDING <br />Staff recommends approval of the attached RFP, which will be <br />advertised and processed thru the County Purchasing Department. <br />Funding for the estimated $10,000 project cost will come from fund <br />109 - Secondary Road Trust Fund. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Eggert, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously approved <br />the RFP from consultant firms for countywide traffic <br />signal retiming which will be advertised and <br />processed through the Purchasing Department, as <br />recommended in the Memorandum. <br />ADVERTISE FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES - REPLACE OSLO ROAD <br />BRIDGE AT LATERAL "J" CANAL <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of October 24, 1996: <br />TO: James E. P.E.. <br />Public Works Director( <br />SUBJECT: Request to Advertise for Engineering Services to Replace Oslo Road Bridge <br />at Lateral "J" Canal <br />REF. LETTER: D.D. O'Laughlin. Adair and Brady. Inc, to Robert Keating <br />dated Sept. 16. 1996 <br />DATE: October 24, 1996 <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITION <br />Adair and Brady. Inc. engineering consultants for the Florida DOT, is proceeding <br />with the design of a sidewalk along Oslo Road between 18th Avenue and Timber <br />Ridge entrance road. Within the project limits is a bridge spanning the Lateral "J" <br />Canal which is scheduled for replacement in 1998/99 under the 10 Optional Sales <br />Tax Program. It would be advantageous at this time to proceed with selecting a <br />consultant for engineering design of this bridge. If the Lateral "J" canal bridge is <br />not completed prior to the DOT sidewalk project being constructed. a temporary <br />bridge to accommodate the sidewalk will be necessary. <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND FUNDING <br />Staff recommends authorization to advertise under CCNA guidelines for consulting <br />services to replace the Oslo Road/Lateral "J" Canal bridge.
