Zito, Deputy County Administrator <br />Cindy Emerson, Community Services Director <br />From: Megan Kendrick Human Services Manager <br />Subject: Children Services Advisory Committee: De -obligation of Funding for Motivational <br />Edge FY 2024-2025 <br />BACKGROUND: <br />On April 9th, 2024, the Board of County Commissioners approved FY 2024/2025 funding for <br />Children's Services in the amount of $3,149,351, with up to $207,522 for administrative expenses <br />and up to $2,941,829 in Children's Program expenses. <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS: <br />For the fiscal year 2024-2025, Motivational Edge was awarded $15,000 for the Bridging Hope <br />program. On October 15th, 2024, the agency formally notified the Children's Services Advisory <br />Committee (CSAC) of its decision to terminate the program contract, resulting in the de -obligation <br />of the grant funding for this specific use, but keeping the funds in Reserve for Contingency for a <br />future identified need. <br />FUNDING: <br />There is no additional funding required for this item. <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends the Board de -obligate funding to Motivational Edge Inc. for the Bridging Hope program <br />in the amount of $15,000 and preserve the funds in Reserve for Contingency for future needs. <br />ATTACHMENTS: <br />Grant Contract — Motivational Edge <br />CSAC Approved Program Funding FY 24-25 <br />Consent Staff Report to approve funding <br />Notice from Motivational Edge <br />APPROVED AGENDA ITEM FOR JANUARY 28, 2025 <br />121 <br />
