Titkanich, Jr., County Administrator <br />David Johnson, Emergency Services Director <br />Kristin Daniels, Director, Office of Management and Budget <br />FROM: Jennifer Hyde, Purchasing Manager <br />SUBJECT: Cooperative Purchasing Agreement and Authorization to Trade for <br />New Stryker Stretchers <br />BACKGROUND: <br />The Fire Rescue Division utilizes various standardized equipment from Styker, <br />including Lifepak patient monitors/defibrillators, Lucas chest compression systems, and <br />powered stretchers. The Board had previously declared Stryker sole source for Lifepaks <br />and maintenance, but that designation expired in 2024. All of the equipment and <br />maintenance are now available under various cooperative agreements in which the <br />County participates. <br />DISCUSSION: <br />Four stretchers are due for replacement, with the best pricing available under a new <br />cooperative entity, Savvik Buying Group. In order to participate, Savvik requires the <br />County to execute a master intergovernmental cooperative purchasing agreement. <br />Staff has obtained a quote for the replacement of the stretchers, which includes a <br />discount for the trade in of the stretchers being replaced; assets 29556, 29557, 29878, <br />and 29397• <br />The cost for the four replacement stretchers is $139,961, which is budgeted and <br />available in the Emergency Services District/Fire Rescue/Other Machinery and <br />Equipment account, as shown below. <br />Description <br />GL <br />Cost <br />Emergency Services District/Fire <br />Rescue Other Machinery and Equipment <br />11412022-o66490 <br />$139,961 <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br />Staff recommends the Board of County Commissioners declare assets 29190, 29191, <br />29878, and 29397 as excess and authorize their trade-in; approve the Savvik Agreement, <br />and authorize the Chairman to sign the agreement after review and approval by the <br />County Attorney as to form and legal sufficiency. <br />21 <br />
