DESCRIPTION, CONDITIONS, AND ANALYSIS The Indian River County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) recently adopted an update to the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan, which provided a list of projects that are needed to fill the existing sidewalk gaps to provide connectivity. One key project identified is the 41St Street sidewalk from 32nd Avenue to US Highway 1. A grant application will be submitted to FDOT for funding from the Transportation Alternative Program (TAP) for this project. One requirement of the application is a Resolution of Support from the Board of County Commissioners. The project will consist of the construction of a new 6' wide concrete sidewalk along the north side of 4111 Street from 32nd Avenue to US Highway 1. It will also provide drainage improvements, earthwork, maintenance of traffic, erosion control and pavement markings. This project is also listed as a high priority project from the adopted Gifford Neighborhood Plan and will connect to the proposed 41St Street sidewalk to be constructed by the recently approved Hunters Grove PD between 38th Avenue and 32nd Avenue.
