Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final February 25, 2025 <br />regularly to discuss items of common interest. <br />Commissioner Moss expressed that the proposition fell short of the Joint <br />City/County Workshops. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Earman, seconded by Chairman <br />Flescher, to reach out to the Municipalities to organize meetings between the <br />mayors of the County's Municipalities and the Board Chairman. The motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />Aye: 4 - Chairman Flescher, Vice Chairman Loar, Commissioner Adams, and <br />Commissioner Earman <br />Nay: 1 - Commissioner Moss <br />16. SPECIAL DISTRICTS AND BOARDS <br />A. Emergency Services District <br />B. Solid Waste Disposal District <br />C. Environmental Control Board <br />17. PUBLIC COMMENT: NON -AGENDA -RELATED MATTERS <br />18. ADJOURNMENT <br />The public was invited to speak on any topic of concern. <br />George Colon first mentioned his support for vetting the appointed members to the <br />Children Services Advisory Committee. He went on to discuss the need for the <br />County to register and regulate sober homes. He was in favor of rehabilitative <br />services, but was concerned with issues of human trafficking and drug use, as well as <br />possible danger to the community. <br />Lalita Janke spoke in favor of clarifying the application process for Committee <br />volunteers, and the importance of management and communication with volunteers. <br />There being no further business, the Chairman adjourned the meeting at 12:14 p.m. <br />Indian River County, Florida Page 19 <br />
