A TRUE COPY <br />V. SIM Card Test CERTIFICATION ON LAST PAGE <br />RYAN L. BUTLER, CLERK <br />Description <br />The purpose of this test is to demonstrate that the System Identification Memory (SIM) Card in the system <br />will hold configuration files saved to it and apply those configurations back to the channel unit as <br />necessary. <br />Instructions <br />Begin by ensuring that no alarms exist on the terminal to be tested. If any alarms are present troubleshoot <br />those alarms and then continue with the test. <br />Log on to the Terminal under test if you have not already logged on. <br />Connect a PC with the EM2 software installed via the serial connector on the front of the terminal labeled <br />"COMPUTER". <br />Open the EM2 software and on the initial log -in screen select "Serial" from the pull down and choose the <br />appropriate "COM PORT" that the PC is using. <br />Enter the username: "Admin" (note this cannot be changed) enter the password. The default password is <br />"password" which can be changed). Once the correct "Admin" and "User Password" is entered you will be <br />"logged on" and the displayed terminal icons will go from gray to blue to indicate communication with the <br />terminal under test. <br />Once the MNI MX/MXD channel unit is fully configured it should be save to the SIM card for use later use <br />as needed. To test this he current configuration will be saved to the SIM card and then a field will be <br />changed in the EM2 software but reverted back with the SIM card restore feature. <br />Copy the current running configuration to the SIM card by going to "Utility" and "SIM Card Utility" and <br />selecting the "Near End" then "Copy Configuration Parameters to SIM Card" and Select "YES" on the pop <br />up message. <br />Channel unit minor light will flash while the copy process is happening. Once it is copied a success or <br />failure message will appear. If it fails trouble shoot and repeat until successful. <br />Now the current running configuration is on the SIM card and can be used a means of backup for <br />replacement channel units. <br />Go to "Configuration" then "System" and Change the near end site name to "TEST -A" and Apply. <br />Go back to "Utility" and "SIM Card Utility" and selecting the "Near End" then "Copy Configuration <br />COMMUNICA7>ONS <br />INTERNATIONAL <br />Page 16 of e <br />
