IX. RSL /AGC Test
Description
A TRUE COPY
cERTWICATION ON LAST PAGE
RYAN L, BUTLER, CLERK
The purpose of this test is to verify the RSL to AGC table correlation provided on the radio terminal
Factory Datasheet. A calibrated scale is provided for each RF Unit under test. The documented AGC to
RSL scale is serial number specific to the RF Unit under test.
Instructions
1. Log on to the Terminal under test if you have not already logged on.
a. Connect a PC with the EM2 software installed via the serial connector on the front of
the terminal labeled "COMPUTER".
b. Open the EM2 software and on the initial log -in screen select "Serial" from the pull
down and choose the appropriate "COM PORT" that the PC is using.
C. Enter the username: "Admin" (note this cannot be changed) enter the password. The
default password is "password" which can be changed). Once the correct "Admin" and
"User Password" is entered you will be "logged on" and the displayed terminal icons will
go from gray to blue to indicate communication with the terminal under test.
From the main display on the EM2 software view the "RSL (dBm)" value and record it on the Terminal
Acceptance Test form under RX Measurements "Indicated RSL"
2. Using a Digital Volt Meter measure the AGC voltage for the RFU under test (AGC test point is on
front of RFU). Record the AGC voltage in the RX Measurements "Measured AGC at RF Shelf"
Section of the Terminal Acceptance Test form.
3. Repeat this for the Far End terminal.
Result
Using the calibrated AGC to RSL scale verify the MNI GUI display is within specification. This test is
deemed passing when the Indicated RSL on the EM2 screen equals the measured RSL +/- 2dB.
Page 22 of
