Proclamation <br />RECOGNIZING APRIL AS CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH <br />-Whereas, Children are vital to our future success and every child has the right to grow up <br />safe, healthy, happy and free from abuse; and <br />-Whereas, All children deserve to receive love, nurturing and care and live in communities that <br />foster their healthy growth and development; and <br />`Whereas, Child abuse, neglect and abandonment is a community responsibility, affecting both <br />the current and future quality of life of any community; and <br />'Whereas, Hibiscus Children's Center has been saving children's lives for 40 years. Hibiscus <br />upholds the legacy of transforming the lives of children and families and embraces opportunities that <br />can potentially change the way society cares for children; and <br />-Whereas, Hibiscus Children's Center provides a safe haven, mental health counseling, <br />educational services and career training for vulnerable youth. The generous community has <br />supported Hibiscus for over four decades and helps to provide youth with a strong foundation for the <br />future and give them every opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential; and <br />Wow, g`ierefore, be it Proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian <br />River County, F&rida, that in recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month, we honor the <br />unwavering commitment of the individuals dedicated to protecting children and providing safe <br />environments for children on the Treasure Coast since its founding in 1985. <br />Adopted this 22`h day of April 2025.
