This budget represents a $34,755, or 2.28%, increase over the previous fiscal year budget of $1,526,345. Included in the budget are the State -mandated increases in the Florida Retirement System contribution rates (impact of $8,277) as well as a modest cost of living increase for employees. Although Florida Statute 29.008 places the financial burden on the counties of funding maintenance and upgrades of supporting technology infrastructure, IT staff, and services of the Clerk of Circuit Court and Comptroller, we did not request such funding from the Board, with the exception of. l) a portion of one existing full-time IT position, totaling $39,028, which provides support of related technology infrastructure for the Comptroller and Clerk to the Board divisions, and 2) annual maintenance costs of $37,500 for software needed to transmit data through existing criminal justice • information systems. We continue to fund all other court -related IT needs, including upgrades and maintenance of hardware and software, from recording fees in the various special revenue funds. These funds have significantly depleted over the past several years and we anticipate needing to request additional financial assistance by fiscal year 2028.
