GENERAL OVERVIEW SESSION <br />July 9, 2025 <br />Chairman Flescher announced a public hearing on the Solid Waste Disposal District <br />(SWDD) at 1:30 p.m. The Budget Workshop meeting would be temporarily <br />suspended to address a Special Assessment Resolution for the SWDD. Additionally, <br />during the Budget Workshop meeting, a three-minute speaking limit would be in effect <br />for anyone wishing to discuss budgetary items. <br />John A. Titkanich, Jr., County Administrator <br />25-0720 <br />Attachments: Budget Message <br />County Administrator John Titkanich opened the Budget Workshop by <br />discussing the challenges of creating the Fiscal Year 2025/2026 budget in an <br />uncertain economic climate. He expressed concerns about a possible <br />economic slowdown and upcoming reforms that could affect local government <br />funding. With a significant decline in real estate values impacting revenue from <br />building permits and new construction, he emphasized the importance of fiscal <br />prudence to ensure the County could maintain essential services. The <br />proposed budget totaled $597,623,132, reflecting a 10.9% decrease from <br />the previous year's amended budget but marking a 13.9% increase compared <br />to last year's approved budget. Major highlights included an 8.8% rise in the <br />Countywide Tax Roll and a $14.6 million funding request from the Sheriffs <br />Department.
