The requested funding would be utilized for post event grant support, bid fees, <br />destination marketing and administrative costs. The goal is to recruit and retain sporting events that drive tourist <br />development tax collections, occupancy for hotels and restaurants, facility rental fees while generating a positive <br />economic impact within Indian River County. Participants and spectators will spend dollars on accommodations, food and <br />beverage, shopping, gas, etc, which will increase sales tax revenue, tourist tax collections and business occupancy. <br />The Treasure Coast Sports Commission (TCSC) is the recognized Sports Tourism Management Organization for the <br />Treasure Coast Region. The TCSC has a successful 25+ year history of recruiting and retaining sporting events to the <br />Treasure Coast while tracking the actualized overnight stays, estimated direct spending and overall economic impact per <br />event. FY2024, the TCSC supported 109 events on the Treasure Coast, with 44 of these events taking place in Indian <br />River County.
