To expand our reach to the general public, we plan to develop educational programs, increase advertising efforts, and add to the Vero Heritage Citrus Label Trail—a distinctive marketing initiative that educates visitors about the county's citrus heritage and its impact on shaping our community. To achieve this, we want to enhance our website and mobile app by incorporating a map of the installations with brief explanations for each sign. Additionally, we hope to enable online purchasing of unique citrus -related gift items specific to our area. Designed to guide visitors throughout the county in search of each sign, the Citrus Label Trail not only showcases our rich heritage but also encourages exploration of other areas, potentially extending visitors' stays. At present, 17 label signs are installed or in production, and we would like to add at least 10 more by year-end. Additionally, the museum itself requires updates, including audio and video enhancements featuring first -person accounts of experiences within the citrus industry, as well as videos illustrating how local fruit is picked, packed, shipped, and marketed. The grant will also cover portions of staff salaries, such as our museum docent, along with costs for providing complimentary orange and grapefruit juice to museum visitors. However, one sign was irreparably damaged by last year's tornadoes, and another requires repairs. As a result, we've adjusted the requested funding to cover these damages while maintaining our current pace of trail expansion.
