Proclamation <br />RECOGNIZING HUNGER ACTION MONTH <br />-Whereas, hunger and poverty remain issues of grave concern in the United States, the State of <br />Florida and on the Treasure Coast, with 250,000 children, adults, seniors, and veterans <br />experiencing food insecurity on a weekly basis; and <br />-Whereas, Indian River County is committed to taking steps to raise awareness about the need <br />to end hunger in every part of our County and to provide additional resources that the citizens of <br />Indian River County need; and <br />'Whereas, Indian River County is committed to working with the Treasure Coast Food Bank in <br />mobilizing people about the role and importance of food banks and other hunger relief <br />organizations in addressing hunger and bringing attention to the need to devote more resources <br />and attention to hunger issues; and <br />`Whereas, food banks and hunger relief organizations across the country, including the <br />Treasure Coast Food Bank, coordinated Hunger Action Day on September 9, 2025 and will <br />continue to host numerous events throughout the month of September to shed light on this <br />important issue and encourage involvement in efforts to end hunger in their local community. <br />X&w, 11herefore, be it Proclaimed by the Board of County Commissioners of <br />Indtan River County, ,Florida, that September 2025 is recognized as `Hunger Action <br />Month' in Indian River County, inspiring our citizens to come together, raise their voices, and <br />stand united against hunger. <br />Adopted this 23rd day of September, 2025.
