Board of County Commissioners Meeting Minutes - Final September 9, 2025 <br />1. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE <br />Commissioner Laura Moss <br />4. ADDITIONS/DELETIONS TO THE AGENDA / EMERGENCY ITEMS <br />Vice Chairman Loar sought to table items 14.A. and 14.B., which pertained to the <br />County Attorney and the County Administrator's contracts. He expressed concerns <br />about modifying employment contracts midstream, suggesting it was inappropriate to <br />consider these addenda at this time, especially given ongoing investigations. <br />Commissioner Adams disagreed, arguing that the Board was the appropriate forum <br />for discussing contract modifications and that the timing was right based on received <br />reports from the Clerk of Court and Comptroller Ryan Butler. <br />Chairman Flescher supported Vice Chairman Loar's view, citing the need to wait for <br />an official agency review. Mr. Butler emphasized the importance of the Board <br />addressing the issue to avoid complications with ongoing audits and potential <br />investigations. Commissioners Earman and Moss also advocated for resolving the <br />matter promptly, while emphasizing the need to respect the ongoing inquiry and avoid <br />politicizing the debate. The discussion reflected a divide between those wanting to <br />postpone decisions for further review and those advocating for immediate action to <br />clarify the situation. <br />A motion was made by Vice Chairman Loar to table Item 14.A. and Item 14.B. <br />The motion failed for lack of a second. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Adams, seconded by Commissioner Moss, <br />to approve the Agenda as written.
