<br />Efforts of the Keep Indian River Beautiful Committee
<br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED by
<br />Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously adopted
<br />Resolution No. 97-01 supporting the Keep America
<br />Beautiful System as developed by Keep America
<br />Beautiful, Inc., and supporting the efforts of the
<br />Keep Indian River Beautiful Committee, as presented.
<br />RESOLUTION NO. 97-01
<br />A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE KEEP
<br />AMERICA BEAUTIFUL SYSTEM AS
<br />DEVELOPED BY KEEP AMERICA BEAUTIFUL,
<br />INC., AND SUPPORTING THE EFFORTS OF
<br />THE KEEP INDIAN RIVER BEAUTIFUL
<br />COMMITTEE
<br />WHEREAS, Indian River County desires to improve the physical
<br />quality of community life; and
<br />WHEREAS, the expense of collecting and disposing of loose
<br />refuse is an ever-increasing expense to the County; and
<br />WHEREAS, a clean environment contributes to the emotional,
<br />physical and economic well-being of our citizens; and
<br />WHEREAS, the Keep America Beautiful System, developed by Keep
<br />America Beautiful, Inc., will assist greatly in reducing the
<br />improper handling of waste in our County, and thereby reduce
<br />litter:
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
<br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, that the Board hereby
<br />endorses the Keep America Beautiful System, and supports the
<br />participation of the County in the System.
<br />The Resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner Ginn,
<br />and the motion was seconded by Commissioner Macht, and, upon being
<br />put to a vote, the vote was as follows:
<br />Chairman Carolyn K. Eggert Aye
<br />Vice Chairman John W. Tippin Aye
<br />Commissioner Fran B. Adams Aye
<br />Commissioner Kenneth R. Macht Aye
<br />Commissioner Caroline D. Ginn Aye
<br />The Chairman thereupon declared the Resolution duly passed and
<br />adopted this 7 day of January, 1997.
