BOOK 100 PAGE 032 <br />Commissioner Ginn was concerned that some of the Broward <br />County prisoners might be here less than a year and wondered how <br />that would be handled at budget time. She wished to have more <br />information on the cost breakdown. <br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Tippin, the Board unanimously tabled <br />this matter for two weeks to the February 25, 1997 <br />meeting in order to obtain more information. <br />K. Miscellaneous Budget Amendment 014 <br />The Board reviewed the following memo dated 2/5/97: <br />TO: Members of the Board <br />of County Commissioners <br />DATE: February 5, 1997 <br />SUBJECT: MISCELLANEOUS BUDGET AMENDMENT 014 -CONSENT AGENDA <br />FROM: Joseph A. Baird <br />OMB Director <br />DESCRIPTION AND. CONDITIONS- - <br />The attached budget amendment is to appropriate funding for the following: <br />1. The Florida Yards and Neighborhood grant began in FY 1995/96 and is a two year <br />grant. The attached amendment carries forward grant monies not expended in the first <br />year. <br />2. The attached amendment carries forward unused bond monies from FY 1995/96 for the <br />environmentally sensitive land acquisition program in the amount of $5,200,000. <br />3. The BCC has been granted and has accepted a Federal Transit Administration Section <br />5307 (previously Section 9) and a Florida Department of Transportation Public Transit <br />Block grant for the 1996/97 fiscal year. The monies are passed through to the Council <br />on Aging, the County's transportation coordinator. The attached amendment <br />appropriates this grant funding. <br />4. Indian River County receives a grant from FIND (FL Inland Navigation District) which <br />is passed through to the Environmental Learning Center. <br />5. The County Attorney's office had computer equipment included in their 1996/97 budget <br />in the amount of $8,176.00. It was determined that an additional personal computer and <br />printer was needed to make the system operate efficiently which will be $1,650.00 more. <br />Funds will be transferred from the General Fund contingency account. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the attached budget amendment <br />014. <br />FEBRUARY 11, 1997 22 <br />
