<br />Sheriff Wheeler also gave a brief breakdown of the expenses
<br />which are required to be deducted from the $45 received daily to
<br />house the Broward County inmates and responded to several inquiries
<br />from the Commissioners regarding increased calls from the SR -60
<br />areas surrounding the new malls. He stated that security at the
<br />new malls helps to relieve some of the burden on his department.
<br />Commissioner Macht requested a meeting with the Sheriff in the
<br />near future to talk about that area of law enforcement and foresaw
<br />developing a workshop.
<br />Sheriff Wheeler stated he would be glad to meet with
<br />Commissioner Macht and noted that speeding is no longer a problem
<br />on SR -60 as it now takes approximately twice as long to travel that
<br />corridor due to the increased traffic.
<br />ON MOTION by Commissioner Adams, SECONDED by
<br />Commissioner Macht, the Hoard unanimously approved
<br />Sheriff's Office Budget Amendment #2, as recommended
<br />by staff.
