HOTCHKISS, P.E. <br />AND STAFFED ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEER <br />BY: DEPARTMENT OF UTILITY SERVICES <br />SUBJECT: DURRANCE ROAD FORCE MAIN EXTENSION <br />AUTHORIZATION FOR CONSTRUCTION <br />INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROJECT NO. US -92 -38 -CS <br />WIP NO. 473-000-169-204.00 <br />LABOR CONTRACT NO. 4007 <br />A D r ur_n nT7M n <br />On November 5, 1996, the Board of County Commissioners approved the <br />Department of Utility Services to proceed with extending a force <br />main to provide a sewer service connection for the Barnes' <br />residence (see attached minutes), located at Lot 1A, at the <br />northeast corner of 53rd Avenue and 93rd Lane (see location plan on <br />attached construction plans). Since then, staff has prepared <br />construction plans (see attached) and obtained a DEP construction <br />permit for the project. <br />On September 21, 1993, the Board of County Commissioners approved <br />the award of the Labor Contract (Bid No. 4007) to Driveways, Inc. <br />(See attached minutes). We request that the Board of County <br />Commissioners authorize Driveways, Inc. to construct the necessary <br />facilities to provide sewer service to the subject property. <br />ANALYSIS <br />In order to provide sewer service to the Barnes' residence, 1,025 <br />L.F. of 3" diameter PVC force main will have to be constructed. <br />The estimated cost to construct the sewer facilities under the <br />labor contract is $7,288.90 (See attached cost estimate from <br />Driveways, Inc.). The pipe, valves and fittings will be supplied <br />by the County at an estimated cost of $2,875.50. A 10% material <br />and labor contingency of $1,016.44 was also included in the project <br />cost. In-house engineering, inspection and administrative costs <br />are estimated to be $1,550.00, for a total project cost of <br />$12,730.84. <br />MARCH 4, 1997 38 <br />
