E 00r, F A G E <br />THE CHAIRMAN CALLED THE QUESTION and the motion <br />carried unanimously. <br />Commissioner Adams suggested that staff proceed to send a <br />letter objecting to the location of a tower at the interchange (off <br />ramp) of I-95 and SR -60. She would also send a letter. With <br />respect to the CR -512 & I-95 tower, there was not as much <br />maneuverability as is possible on the SR -60 one. She committed to <br />using diligence to help get this new proposed tower moved as well. <br />RFP ##7028 - RISK MANAGEMENT INSURANCE CONSULTANT <br />SERVICES - WATERS RISK MANAGEMENT <br />(Continued from meeting of March 4, 1997) <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum of March 4, 1997: <br />TO: Jame E. Chandler, County Administrator <br />THRU: Ronker, Personnel Director <br />FROM: Beth Jordan, Risk Manager <br />t' <br />DATE: 4 March 1997 <br />SUBJECT: Insurance Consultant Services <br />At the March 4, 1997, meeting the Board tabled action on the staff recommendation toroceed with <br />Waters Risk Management for preparation, analysis and recommendation of the Coun�jr's property, <br />casualty and third party claims administration services. A question was raised concerning the <br />prospective vendors for such consultant services. <br />As reported at the meetings the Risk Manager met with the Purchasing Manager prior to issuing the <br />Request for Proposals, Mrnewed the Vendor list on file with Purchasing, and eliminated from it those <br />vendors who sell insurance products and services. Integral to this RFP was the elimination of any <br />conflict of interest with a Vendor r <br />might subsequently seek to sell insurance products or services <br />tothe Courriy. Sateen (16) vend(a copy of the reference list is attached) were mailed the RFP. <br />The RFP was aiso advertised e Press-JoumaI on January 17 and 24, 1997. Four (4 firms <br />responded, and Waters Is Management was recommended as the most qualified and most <br />responsive. <br />This afternoon, I met with Commissioner Adams and gave her a copy of the Vendor list and the <br />newspaper advertisement. Her questions on the selection process were answered, and we would <br />like to have the agenda item considered by the Board. <br />Commissioner Adams advised that her questions have been <br />answered and that Waters Risk Management was the best choice. <br />In response to Commissioner Macht, Administrator Chandler <br />advised that staff was looking for firms who are not providers. <br />40 <br />March 11, 1997 <br />
