ON MOTION by Commissioner Ginn, SECONDED by <br />Commissioner Macht, the Board unanimously adopted <br />Resolution 97-021 amending Resolution No. 91-31 and <br />Resolution 95-16, which adopted rates, fees, and <br />charges for the Department of Utility Services <br />pursuant to the authority of Ordinance No. 91-9, by <br />adopting new rates for water and sewer impact fees <br />and a new rate for line extension charges for water <br />and sewer lines. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 97- 21 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING <br />RESOLUTION NO. 91-31 AND RESOLUTION 95-16, WHICH <br />ADOPTED RATES, FEES, AND CHARGES FOR THE DEPARTMENT <br />OF UTILITY SERVICES PURSUANT TO THE AUTHORITY OF <br />ORDINANCE NO. 91-9, BY ADOPTING NEW RATES FOR WATER <br />AND SEWER IMPACT FEES AND A NEW RATE FOR LINE <br />EXTENSION CHARGES FOR WATER AND SEWER LINES <br />WHEREAS, it is necessary that the Indian River County Department of Utility <br />Services enact a revised rate for impact fees to recover the costs associated with the need <br />for additional system based on the equitable portion of the cost of funding the extension of <br />the county's water and sewer system; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department also has recommended enacting a new revised rate <br />for line extension charges to recover the line extension costs associated with water lines <br />and sewer lines that have not been assessed and which are available for service. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br />COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that: <br />1. The Impact Fees to recover the costs associated with the need for additional system <br />expansion based on the equitable portion of the cost of funding the extension of the <br />county's water and sewer system, attached to this resolution as Exhibit "A," are <br />adopted replacing the rates already adopted by Resolutions 91-31 and 95-16. <br />2. The Schedule of Line Extension Charges for the recovery of line extension costs <br />associated with water and sewer lines that have been installed but which have not been <br />assessed and which are available for service, attached to this resolution as Exhibit "B," <br />are adopted replacing the rates already adopted by Resolutions 91-31 and 95-16. <br />3. These changes shall go into effect on adoption of this resolution. <br />The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner G i n n . and the motion <br />was seconded by Commissioner M a c h t , and, upon being put to a vote, the vote was <br />as follows: <br />Chairman, Carolyn K.
