REMEMBER, TIME 18 CRITICAL AND CALLS MUST BE <br />PLACED DURING THE NEXT FEW DAYSI1 (With the Legislative Session underway, recommend placing <br />W05 to legislators' Tallahassee OMM forlmmedlefe hnpact). <br />• Ask to speak vAh the Representative's1Senetor's Aide. <br />• Wen* yourself (Librarian, Library Dkeetor, Concerned Citizen, etc.). <br />If you also reside in the Legislator's District, be sure end let the Aide know thiel <br />• Express to the Legislative Aide your support for Full Funding for Florida's <br />Meldtype Library Cooperatives. <br />• Ask the Legisiative Akio to relay your coneems to the Representfftivg/Sanator, <br />requesting Chet he (the Legnletor) support full tend/ng lbrAmy cooperatives <br />by mconrmending that fire FY 199798 Budget {Fags 38-10, Urns !tent 8A) <br />be changed to include full funding at $14 mlWon. <br />• Bn sure to tit mk the Aloe for hislher time. <br />• EXE the CFLC Office to let us know who you tailed and when (for our records). <br />THANKS FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT - <br />YOUR HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED AND <br />REALLY CAN MAKE A D/FFERENCEI <br />Library Director Mary Powell felt it is extremely important <br />that the Library Cooperatives receive funding. <br />General discussion followed as to the best method of <br />supporting this effort and CONSENSUS was reached that each <br />Commissioner would write or call in support of full funding for <br />Florida's Multitype Library Cooperatives. <br />USE OF COUNTY RIGHTS-OF-WAY <br />Commissioner Macht brought up some recent incidents involving <br />solicitations at intersections and noted that the City of Vero <br />Beach had passed an ordinance several years ago prohibiting these <br />solicitations in City rights -of -ways. <br />County Attorney Vitunac reminded the Board that Section 312.06 <br />of the County's Code states that it is unlawful to conduct any <br />sales or business in County rights-of-way and suggested that <br />perhaps the language should be strengthened. <br />CONSENSUS was reached to have the County Attorney strengthen <br />the language in the County's Ordinance. <br />EMERGENCY SERVICES DISTRICT <br />The Chairman announced that, immediately upon adjournment, the <br />Board would reconvene as the Board of Commissioners of the <br />Emergency Services District.
