MISr'FMAArEOVSBUDGETAMENDMENT#024 <br />The Board reviewed a Memorandum ofMay 14, 1997: <br />TO: Members of the Board <br />of County Commissioners <br />DATE: May 14, 1997 <br />SUBJECT: MISCELLANEOUS BUDGET AMENDMENT 024 <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br />FROM: Joseph A Baird <br />OMB Director <br />DESCRIPTION AND CONDITIONS <br />The attached budget amendment is to appropriate funding for the following: <br />1. The State of Florida, Department of Labor, has charged Indian River County for <br />Unemployment Compensation payments to former employees. A budget amendment is <br />required to reflect these payments. (Memo attached from Personnel Director, Ron Baker) <br />2. At the April 22, 1997 BCC meeting, the Board approved a request for funding for fireworks <br />for the Indian River County Firefighters and the Sebastian Fourth of July fireworks. The <br />attached entry appropriates the funds. <br />3. Postage and printing expenses are anticipated to be greater than budgeted for the Building <br />Dept. The additional costs should be covered by higher than estimated permit revenues. The <br />attached entry appropriates the revised revenue estimate. <br />4. Electric charges under the single street lighting district are estimated to exceed budget. The <br />attached entry appropriates additional revenues to cover this increase. <br />5. Insurance claims are estimated to exceed budget. The attached entry appropriates additional <br />revenues to cover this increase. <br />6. At the April 8, 1997 and May 13, 1997 BCC meetings, the Board approved increases to the <br />Sheriff's budget for Broward County inmate revenues for the months of March and April, <br />respectively. The attached entry appropriates the revenues. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Staff recommends that the Board of County Commissioners approve the attached budget amendment 024. <br />MAY 20, 1997 <br />10 <br />
